Terms of Service
Effective 8 September 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Meet the Parents. Using the app means you accept them.
Who can use this
You must be 18 or over. Every person listed on a profile, including an adult child whose profile a parent manages, must be 18 or over. You must not have been convicted of a felony or a sex offence, and you must not be listed on any sex offender register.
One account per family
A parent and their adult child share a single account. Whoever holds it is responsible for what is posted from it, and for having the consent of anyone whose profile appears on it. Do not create a profile for someone who has not agreed to it.
Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour
There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users on Meet the Parents. The following are not allowed, and an account that does any of them is removed:
- Listing anyone under 18, or anyone who has not consented to being listed.
- Nudity, sexually explicit material, or content of a sexual nature.
- Harassment, threats, bullying, stalking, or unwanted contact after somebody has asked you to stop.
- Hate speech, or attacks on a person or group by race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, sex, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability or serious illness.
- Violence, or content that promotes or glorifies it.
- Impersonating another person, or using photographs you have no right to use.
- Solicitation, prostitution, escort services, or offering or requesting anything of value in exchange for a meeting.
- Scams, phishing, fraud, requests for money, or investment and crypto pitches.
- Spam, advertising, recruiting, or promoting another service.
- Illegal activity of any kind, or the sale of drugs, weapons or counterfeit goods.
Reporting, blocking, and what we do about it
Every family profile and every conversation carries a way to report it and a way to block the family behind it. Blocking is immediate: a blocked family can no longer see you, reach you, or appear in your deck.
We review every report and act within 24 hours. Acting means removing the content, ejecting the user, or both. Accounts removed for breaking these rules are not reinstated.
To report something outside the app, email hello@parentmatched.com.
Introductions, and what we do not promise
We introduce families to each other. We do not vet, endorse, guarantee or run background checks on anyone, and we are not responsible for the conduct of any family on or off the app. Use the same judgement you would meeting anyone new. Meet in a public place. Tell someone where you are going.
Your content
What you write and the photos you upload remain yours. You give us permission to show them to other families on the app, which is the only thing we do with them. You confirm you have the right to upload every photo you upload, and the consent of everyone in it.
Paid features
If we sell anything, it will be sold through Apple's in-app purchase and the price, length and terms will be shown before you buy. Subscriptions renew until cancelled, and you cancel through your Apple ID settings, not through us.
Ending it
You can delete your account at any time from inside the app, and it is immediate. See deleting your account. We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms.
Liability
The app is provided as it is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of it, or from your dealings with anyone you meet through it. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes
If we change these terms we will update the date at the top and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
